14.12.20: The Sensory Garden Project: The Mural starts to take shape.

Graham Bell, our talented Landscape designer and Horticultural advisor is also a member of Exmouth Art Group (EAG) and with Gillie Newcombe from EAG has been instrumental in planning a second joint project, with Exmouth in Bloom, (the first project being the award winning Swan display). This time the plan is to build a Sensory Garden in one of the Pavilion Gardens on the seafront. Last week, with consent for the project given by EDDC, essential and generous  funding in place from Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and after much planning and  preparation, the wonderful colourful mural has been started. There are 13, 8 foot high panels to be painted and fitted together. These will sit along one side of the garden (see the second photo) and blend in with a wonderful wild flower mix display, which will be sown in the border in front.

Our thanks go to Peter who captured photos of this momentous morning.

Included in the photos with Graham, and his brother Mike, are Gillie and Karen from Exmouth Art Group, Gerry and Marion representing Exmouth in Bloom and Julian Pursey who helped with cutting the boards.

Step by step and watch this space in the months to come.
