Its always sad at the end of a season to empty our boats and planters and this year was especially hard as the plants have been absolutely magnificent since being planted back in May. The Salvia jamensis plants have all been retained in place, but we know that the frost and coldĀ will soon take the wonderful Begonia semperflorens. Richard, Elaine and Lena tackled the last of the Marine Way boats and were rewarded by an appreciative EiB supporter buying them coffee and doughnuts from M and S. What a welcome treat! Meanwhile Peter and Shiela’s crew were busy in The Strand….no such service for them however! The new plants arrived at dawn the following day.
