What a morning! The sun was shining after it had lashed with rain all night and 22 (breaking the record) turned out to work in our favourite place, the Sensory Garden, on the seafront. We welcomed two new volunteers, Vyvyan and Will who joined us for the first time too.
Our task was to tidy up all the borders and paths and take out unwanted thistles, fleabane and chickweed to give space for last year’s germinating self-set wild flower seed, to establish better. We also cut back some of the shrubs, neatened up perennials and prepped the raised beds for adding some vegetables in them this year. Gillie was on light duties after breaking her wrist, so brought a sketch book and drew a few designs for the new mural which she and Graham will be painting on the wall behind the Wavy bed shortly.
Great team.
Great work.
Great result…. (and for those who could stay)…..
Great coffee!
