25.04.21: April’s Work Party works wonders.

April’s end of the month work party had 20 volunteers, turn out on a perfect Spring day. Sheila’s team washed 4 boats in Marine Way, and then finished  picking the last of the dead leaves from the agapanthus plants in the Wavy Bed and the Station Roundabout. ( Great job by the way.) Gerry’s  team pruned back the shrubs in the garden at Haldon House Surgery. Marion’s team tackled the weeds between the pavers in Manchester Road, whilst Elaine led a team washing and prepping the rust where needed, on all the planters in the road, ready for re-painting.

Everyone gathered in Manchester Road  for the last few minutes of time and although we didn’t  completely finish the whole road, it’s looking a whole lot better.

We then had the added bonus of at last being able to have a bit of social time together over coffee in The Strand afterwards. Hurrah!

Thank you to  everyone who worked so hard today and also to Streetscene’s Paul who picked up  the bags of waste we generated today.

Another great job done today.
