16.07.23: Workparty fest in the Sensory Garden and Alexandra Terrace, in the run up to judging.

Quite a morning! 23 plus Evelyn and Lucy the dog this morning. A ton of weeding, edging and tidying of the Cordyline trees. Evelyn planted some Mallow, Cosmos and Helibores. She was soon expert at getting the plants out of their pots and dropping them into holes that her Mum had dug for them.

There’s some new ‘ arrivals’ on the seafront too. Exmouth’s very own ‘Eye’ and the Pavilion has scaffolding all round for a full paint renovation and dinosaur themed mural to be completed. Somewhat of an eyesore but it will be wonderful when it’s finished.

Then along to Alexandra Terrace and The Esplanade (on the judging route) to deal with the sand blown up from the beach in recent storms and strong winds. All hands to the brooms and paver cleaners to get into the nooks and crannies where the sand had gathered. Then a well-deserved cuppa in Manor Gardens where several volunteers modelled their new bucket hats. We are  all ready for more sunshine now !!!!
