Although this is nowhere near the end of the month, we called a pop-up work party to help EDDC with a task in the Dinosaur Paddocks and Dwarf Buddliea beds which needed weeding before being mulched with wood chip at the end of this week. The soil has been rock hard so it was a case of getting it done after some heavy rain during the week.
8 lovely volunteers responded to the call-out and spent a couple of hours weeding, tidying and dead heading in the area.
Amazing what you find….. bottles of beer and vodka (both sadly empty) a nice pint- glass, a highly polished wooden truncheon (old Police issue?) and plenty of litter and lots and lots of cigarette ends, despite the Big Clean the day before!
