Folowing RHS Planet-friendly Gardening advice we have sustainably planted 5 of our boats along the length of Marine Way. The delivery of plants from Rainbow in Ottery St Mary arrived early doors and were sorted into the boat planting plans ( all slightly different). The planting team arrived and off we went trundling the trolley loaded with water and our blue IKEA bags, full of plants.
The boats had been prepared several days ago and Mike Hole, our waterer, had done a great job thoroughly re-hydrating the compost for us the day before.
We have still left small areas within the boat planting for annual bedding which will add that extra splash of colour in the summer and winter months.
