Back in May EDDC ‘ploughed up’ wide areas of grass along the Exeter Road just as you approach Exmouth and in the residential area of Brixington. They then sowed mixtures of perennials, wild flowers and annuals. In the 9 weeks of drought that followed the soil completely dried and the only green plants that survived were dandelions. Complaints were many as you can imagine. However…. August’s rain showers have done the trick and just look at the two areas now. Exeter Road a vision of gold and white and Brixington mainly red, white and blue with splashes of yellow. WOW Hopefully good management of these areas will follow and we will have these wonderful wild flowers zones for years to come.
