A bright sunny morning for 10 volunteers to begin the ground work for the beds in the Sensory Garden, which is generously sponsored and supported by EDDC, Exmouth Town Team, Exmouth Chamber of Commerce, Sun Lodge Masonic Charities, Urban Earth, Jewsons and many private individuals.
Designer and project manager Graham, gave us the orders and Alison, Linda T, Elaine, Richard, Peter and Marion got cracking with digging out the edge shapes of the beds to be planted and filling the newly finished raised beds. Gerry and Gillie meanwhile did some much needed ‘weeding’ to give the self-seeded ( from 2 years ago) wild flower areas a better chance to thrive. Graham and Mike also watered and re-tied the trees that are looking very happy in their new home. The beds will now be finished by rotavator (thank goodness)!
This was a true work ‘party’…..it was hard but a lot of fun. All taking shape and looking good.
Exmouth Art group’s President Gillie supplied mid-morning coffee and rock cakes which gave us opportunity for a much needed rest and a boost to keep going a bit longer.
…and thanks Streetscene for your help too!
