We are devastated to announce that Gillie Newcombe, who has, along with Graham Bell, provided the inspiration and artistic work behind many of Exmouth in Bloom’s outstanding projects in Town, has passed away.
She had a terminal cancer diagnosis only a few months ago and has fought so hard and bravely to finish her latest murals at the GWRSA club.
Just 6 weeks ago she met the South West in Bloom Judges during their tour of Exmouth, showing her art projects in the Sensory Garden, The Wavy bed, The Swan Project and the GWRSA.
She was a long standing member of Exmouth Art Group and a recent committee member of Exmouth in Bloom.
Gillie was a positive inspiration to all who met her and we as a group will miss her smile, positiveity, inspiration and friendship. She leaves a wonderful legacy of her art work in amongst and complementing the Exmouth in Bloom floral displays, so we will think of her wherever we volunteers are working.
Rest in Peace dear friend.
