9th May VE DAY 80 years on
Exmouth in Bloom volunteers joined a few hundred residents and visitors at a simple but moving ceremony at the War Memorial in The Strand yesterday evening. Anne had made a beautiful reusable wreath using silk poppies and natural foliage (which we plan to re-use with fresh foliage for VJ Day later in the year ). Anne laid the wreath on behalf of Exmouth in Bloom alongside many tributes from members of the British Legion, the Town Council, David Reed MP and many local groups. We also made a contribution to the British Legion.
