What a morning! It was hot but there was a bit of breeze on the seafront and it was overcast, so we just about managed our 90 minute workparty session. We have cleared the sand and weeds off the cobbles at the sea defences bed at the end of Alexandra Terrace and hope that Streetscene will send the mechanical road sweeper along tomorrow. The bed has been weeded and the dead cordyline spears removed. Under the seating has been weeded and swept of sand as well so barring a summer hurricane between now and Judging day that area should be ready for Exmouth Garden Club to put the finishing touches to the area.
We then walked down to the Sensory Garden with the intention of doing some tidying up there but truly ran out of energy and time so decided iced coffee with our own free ‘Glastonbury’ in the Pavilion Garden, was a better option!
Thanks everyone who nobly volunteered today. Lots of people stopped to thank us and you could certainly see the difference when we’d finished.
Sensory Garden and Rockery looking wonderful still by the way.
