OUR GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY. 1971-2021
It is 50 years since Exmouth in Bloom first won a certificate in the Britain in Bloom, West Country Region, so we are planning a number of celebrations to mark this Golden Year.
EDDC asked us if we would like to plant up the sloping raised bed in the middle of Manor Gardens this year. What a priviledge. We loved the idea that we could provide a traditional Victorian carpet bed of flowers in amongst the more sustainable displays in the park, now favoured by the District Council as part of their policy supporting Climate Change.
Plants Galore were able to supply the Begonia semperflorens for us and the results of the planting can be seen below. Chosen for their drought tolerance, their resistance to disease and that they don’t need deadheading , the wonderful colours will develop as the season goes by. We are thrilled with the result.
