23.06.25: Countdown to Judging begins. Three and a half weeks to go!

A great group of 10 yesterday working from the Station along to the Wavy Bed, down Manchester Road to The Strand Dino beds. All the planting is fabulous – and  the Streetscene gardeners have worked their magic on the War Memorial and have made a super job of wood chipping the Dino Beds as well. Thanks boys!

Fortunately all the plants are holding up well in this unforgiving heat however.

The Wavy Bed planting is looking good and we had 8 watering cans and a chain gang of people, water it thoroughly.

The cascade geraniums in Manchester Rd look incredible. EDDC will be treating the weeds in the road pavers there imminently!

The troughs and borders in the Dinosaur beds, are certainly thriving, but the stack of litter Linda collected  from behind the seating and in amongst the shrubs was staggering!

We had Evelyn and Isla helping, finding minibeasts, asking questions and giving advice  once again!

Bad news is  that Mike, who does our main watering round,  found  the  Welcome to Exmouth boat outside the Station had been battered for the second time  this summer. He did his best to replant and water it on Saturday morning and Linda D and Anne worked wonders with it during the workparty

It is salvaged.

A well-deserved cuppa at Postcards finished off the morning’s work.

As always…..a big ‘Thank You’ to everyone on the Blue Team today.
