This wonderful comment was left on our Facebook page last week from Cathy, a visitor to the town:-
Exmouth in Bloom – I haven’t visited Exmouth since I was about 10 years old (so around 1969’ish) but came down from Barnstaple on the train with 4 old school mates today to meet another couple of old school mates for a catch up.
We walked from Exmouth railway station to Ocean for lunch and all I can say is that we were very impressed with the baskets, floral displays and the park area. We also all remarked how clean and tidy the town centre was as there was no visible litter and how safe the pavements are (no wobbly slabs etc) compared with what we’ve got in Barnstaple.
We saw loads of plants being delivered to the area next to the train station when we arrived at about 11.30am and by the time we got back to the station at around 2.15pm all the planters had been planted up and they look really lovely. If time had allowed I would have taken some photos – but maybe that’s for another day.
I’d be very proud to be an Exmouth Bloomer and hope you are too and good luck on judging day xx
This is what she saw that day!
