Exmouth in Bloom have planted a tree for the Queen’s Jubilee. This will become part of the Queen’s Green Canopy.
EDDC had given their permission for the tree to be sited on the rockery area behind the Sensory Garden. Graham chose an 9ft. multi-stemmed Himalayan Birch (Betula Utilis) from the local Rainbow Nurseries, which will show up well against the area backdrop of evergreen Holm Oaks on Plantation Walk.
Huge thanks go especially to Paul and Adam and also to the excellent EDDC Streetscene team who not only dug the hole but took on the planting for us. You were stars!
We will be having an official dedication of the tree later on in the year.
Adam: There I was digging a hole……
Graham, far right, supervises the arrival of the tree.
Job done!
