06.10.24: Countdown for Winter planting.

We are on the countdown for Winter planting so it was quite important to get a few jobs done at the Workparty today. Sheila and Marion tackled the unruly hedge at the Rotary troughs wall and did a tidy and deadhead at the Swan, while the other 12 and young Evelyn (chief seed collector), who turned out, dead headed the Wavy bed and worked their way round to the Triangle bed that had suffered a battering in the recent storms.

George did a Town Centre and flower bed litter pick and dropped by carrying a big bag of rubbish on his way to the Estuary.

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and though we were all prepared with wet weather gear, we hit lucky with a  rain free window.

We had a cuppa at Postcards at the end of the morning and had the added wonderful surprise to be told by Poppy and Rich that an anonymous local resident had put £30 behind the counter for us to have coffee and cake. What a treat!

Thank you  so much whoever you are.
