Start to Finish….a Spirit of the Exe true Community Effort

During the winter we were generously given two old rowing boats by local company Cockman Builders Ltd. Mark Sansom, who also gave us a previous boat ‘Victoria’, stored them for us at his Boat Yard, M.S Marine Services, where they were repaired and renovated and given new paintwork by Bloom volunteers, using Exmouth in Bloom Blue from Wilson’s Paints.

Mark and his strong lads then delivered the boats to their permanent homes in town and we filled them with compost, delivered from Kings Garden and Leisure.

Councillor Jill Elson asked if Exmouth and District Community Transport could sponsor the planting of one of the boats, positioned in the Strand area of town and we then filled it to the    brim with flowers supplied by Boyces of Manstree

.

So here you can see the Community Transport mini bus, with some of the Exmouth in Bloom volunteers at the completion of the project and Jill formally named the boat Spirit of the Exe,    after one of our Lifeboats.

What great team work and what a great outcome! Thank you to everyone involved.
