Exmouth in Bloom launched their annual Local Gardening Competition 2018 at Summerleaze Residential Care Home on Thursday May 17th. A very pleasant afternoon was enjoyed, along with tea and cakes, talking to residents and staff, sitting under the glorious wisteria on a sunny afternoon.
The Local Garden Competitions have been revamped for this year with 8 entry categories, including Residential Gardens, Businesses and Organisations, along with a separate competition for schools.
You can choose from Hanging Baskets and Containers, Front Gardens, Rear Gardens, Vegetable Plots, Wildlife Gardens, Care Homes, Businesses and Community Premises. Schools can enter the Best School Garden, Best School Vegetable Plot and Best School Wildlife Garden.
The wonderful Kings Garden & Leisure generously sponsors our main prizes and Karen Turner from Birds and Bees gives prizes for Schools’ wildlife gardens.
Otter Nurseries and St Bridget’s Nurseries also kindly donate prizes. So please enter your garden for a chance to win and to help keep Exmouth in Bloom. You can enter yourself or nominate a friend, neighbour, group, school, business or community premises.
Entry forms for the Gardening Competitions can be collected from the Town Council Offices at the Town Hall, Library, Tourist Information & Kings Garden and Leisure or click here to download a printable form (PDF).
The closing date for application forms is the 2nd July. Judging will take place during the weeks of 23rd July to 5th August. Prizewinners will be invited to a presentation evening in the Autumn.
