Inspired by committee members Sharon and Sandie’s visit to the Moretonhampstead’s Flag Festival, 5 Bloom volunteers and 3 additional supporters who are skilled sewers, attended a workshop in Moretonhampstead with Veronica and Anthea to learn how to make flags which, all being well, we hope to fly from buildings in the town this summer.
The flags are made from rip-stop material, sourced from abandoned tents, offcuts from air balloons and ripped kitesurfing canopies.
During the day we made two flags using quite complicated designs that depict Exmouth. What a wonderfully inspiring day!
