Really satisfying morning! Eleven marvelous volunteers, including newcomer Dave, arrived armed with lawn rakes and rubber gloves to fish the leaves out of the Waterwheel pond and generally tidy up the area. Liz our Wildlife Trust expert was on hand to advise and rescue any pond life. We found a frog so built a small stone ramp for it to climb in and out and hope to plant just one or two indigenous pond plants to add some interest and encourage more pond life to visit. Streetscene’s Ian came by to pick up the twenty plus bags of debris and tomorrow the wet leaves, which are currently draining of water and mini creatures, will be cleared up.
Thank you Liz, we always learn such a lot from you and a good time was had by all.
