Saturday 7th April saw a stalwart band of Bloom Committee members, Gerry, Elaine, Richard and Jenny plus Elaine’s friend also Gerry, holding a bucket collection at Exmouth Rugby Club before the kick off. In spite of the inclement weather, local supporters and visitors to the club from Gravesend and Bristol, were all extremely generous with donations. Half time saw a change in collectors when Carol and Linda joined Gerry to “catch” any potential donators who had slipped through the net! At the end of play, Gerry did a last sweep of the club house and the final score was a fantastic £144.00.
Exmouth in Bloom would like to thank Ian Harris (Chairman) and the Board of Exmouth Rugby Club for allowing us to hold the collection. This money will go towards planting out one of our donated ‘new’ boats which we have almost finished prepping and painting, from bottom to top by a fantastic stalwart team of volunteers and will shortly be filled and planted up for Summer in the town.
Our thanks also go to Wilson’s Paints for sorting out the Exmouth in Bloom blue for us.
