Today was the first end of the month work party since March and we had 12 enthusiastic volunteers turned up to tackle a couple neglected areas in town. The first was behind the Station next to the Disabled Parking area and the pay machines. We have yet to discover who the area belongs and who is responsible for keeping it tidy, but it has been very neglected and as you can see from the photos below a transformation has taken place this morning.
Gerry, Sandie, Richard, Elaine and Peter got cracking on the dead space behind the station ramp.
Jackie and Josie tackled the weeds under the walkway.
Linda C, Marion and Jenny made a start on the overgrown grass and shrub areas and Linda G came along with her fantastic electric strimmer. We left a patch of naturalised long grass and wild flowers for a Blue Heart to go in.
