The last work party of the year had to be postponed twice. Firstly due to exceptionally cold temperatures (-7C) and then pourring rain, so to be greeted by a positively ‘tropical’ 11C and sunshine was a real treat.
11 volunteers met at The Waterwheel to give it a Winter tidy. Liz got her wellies on to fish out the leaves and netted duck weed from the pond once more.
Bill, Barbara and Marion put in the framework and started building a new Bug Hedge there too.
We raked up leaves and filled lots of our Blue Bags with Green waste ready for EDDC Streetscene to collect for composting. Then we all moved on to the Dinosaur Paddocks to rake up the last of the leaves there.
Great team of workers as always…. and thanks to Peter, Paul, Val, Elaine, Rich, Les, Sue, Liz, Bill, Barbara and Marion.
Job done…….Here’s to a good rest over the Xmas period and see you all, ready for action, in the New Year.
