11.06.20 Planting Day runs like clockwork.

Delivery: The weather forecast for Planting Day was horrendous and it poured with rain all night but stopped by 6am for Elaine, Liz and Marion to arrived to prepare for Boyce’s Nurseries to deliver  nearly £2500 worth of quality plants. Thanks Tim and Simon.

Sorting: Off loading took a while and then we sorted the plants using the individual plans for our beds, planters and boats.

Planting: Volunteers were advised to arrive at specific times to allow for social distancing and set off with barrows, the new Trolley and watering cans.

Guarding: Carol arrived to keep guard over the plants that were yet to be taken to be planted.

Watering: Mike H, Peter and Jill did long rounds of watering to the far flung areas on Marine Way.

Dee and Mike T acquired water from Maggie’s house close to Maria Noble boat, which her family in Australia sponsors. Here’s Maggie by the boat.

All finished, all tired, but we are really happy with how everywhere looks. It then poured with rain again later in the afternoon. PERFECT!

THANK YOU everyone….Definitely a GOLD….if Britain in Bloom was happening this year!
