Funding

The group finds its funding from a variety of sources. Exmouth Town Council give us a grant which we use for summer bedding. Traders and businesses within the town contribute to hanging baskets, and give donations and sponsorship.  Exmouth Rotary Clubs sponsor the boats along Marine Way.  We receive proceeds from Pearl Cawse's car boot sales.  The committee raises money from plant sales. We also take part in the annual Carnival procession and make a collection. The committee produces a calendar which is on sale at various outlets throughout the town and raises over £1000 each year.  The "Friends of Exmouth in Bloom" also contribute to the funding.

Knitted doll's clothes - latest fundraising activity

how you can help:

Do you perhaps own a doll yourself, or know someone who has a favourite one that would like a new set of clothes? Perhaps a warm winter coat, pretty pinafore dress, cosy dungarees and sweater, or a lacy summer dress and perhaps a pair of shoes or slippers and a hat or head-band to match, and as an Easter gift it will last much longer than a chocolate egg!

Carol Rowe who is our Minutes Secretary has been busy knitting doll’s clothes in her spare time and you can see here a couple of the outfits that she has made and sold. She has dozens of patterns to choose from, plain and more elaborate (mainly for baby-type dolls), ranging in height from 10” – 24” (25cm – 60cm) and would be happy for you to select a pattern and size, choose your colours and 100% of all monies received will be given to Exmouth in Bloom to help keep our town looking vibrant and colourful throughout the year.

If however, you don’t wish to order any doll’s clothes, but have some knitting yarn that you no longer require, then that is another way that you can help. Donations of double knitting, 4-ply and 3-ply (even small quantities are useful for decoration), would all be very much appreciated.

Please get in contact with Carol if you would like to have a chat about new clothes for that favourite doll or if you have any yarn.   Thanks very much.
