Local Competition

Every year the Group organises a competition for local gardeners and those who help to keep Exmouth looking good. There are classes for everyone, ranging from hanging baskets to large gardens. There are also classes for different local businesses and clubs. The entries are judged by independent judges, usually members of our Garden Club. A  Presentation Evening is arranged for the Autumn when everyone who has been involved with our efforts throughout the year is invited to celebrate our successes.

The Launch of the 2013 competition took place

at The World of Country Life on Tuesday 30th April at 10.30am

Committee members and previous winners launch local gardening competition at the world of country Life with Angus the mascot, lamb and hawk

The committee invited some of last year's winners to join us, and to collect their competition entry forms.

To down load the entry form, please click here.

We welcome new entrants as well as regular competitors.

To download the competition information, please click here.

Please note that this year there are some changes. There are now only three classes for front gardens, so check the measurements carefully and make sure you have entered the right class. We have amalgamated all the Guest Houses into one class and all the Hotels into one class. This means that many of the Class numbers have changed. There is also a new Class No 05 for ‘Best use of Recycled items’.

Have a look at all our categories including:

Class 01 - Child’s Home Garden Project, for Primary School aged children

Class 02 - Best School Garden

Class 06 - Best Vegetable Plot, Any Size, Any Site, including Allotments

Class 11 - Wildlife Friendly Garden.

By entering you will have the chance to win a Garden Prize and Gardening Vouchers.

The 2012 Presentation Evening was on Thursday September 27 at Exmouth Rugby Club.

Chairman Pat Graham and the Town Clerk Colin Poole presented the awards.
